What is a Bell Tent
A tried and tested 19th century design which has stood the test of time. Originally used by the military, the design is simple; natural poly-cotton canvas hangs down from a central pole and is held in place with guy ropes, creating a delightful old-fashioned shape. Strong enough to withstand all the Lake District can throw at it, they are fully waterproof and when the sun is shining you can roll up the sides enjoy the breeze and let the outside in.
Our Bell Tents
Our Bell Tents are 5m in diameter so it is big enough for four people to sleep in quite happily. The outside cover is made from a thick poly cotton canvas, which is light, and neutral in colour. The Bell Tent has been raised off the ground to allow natural ventilation. With wooden floors and Moroccan rugs it holds in the warmth and provide all the comfort you need for the ideal holiday.
Some things you will find in our Bell Tent:
- Raised wooden flooring
- Wood burning stove with hot plate for those additional cooking needs.
- Comfortable futon style beds enough to sleep four people, consisting of one double and two single futons which conveniently and easily turn into seating during the day.

- Gas hobs and grill, no charge for gas.
- Sides that roll up enabling you to let the beauty of the outside in.
