Long Valley Yurts are situated within the National Trust Campsite at Low Wray on Windermere and we offer three 16ft Yurts (March-November). Our Yurts are located right on the waters edge offer the adventurous spirit a swift pre-breakfast dip in Windermere for a great way to start the day.
Furnished with a distinctly Moroccan feel with thick woolen rugs, bright colourful throws, twinkling fairy lights, solar lighting and large skylight lanterns, our Yurts are cosy, comfortable and definitely different, guaranteed to make you feel completely relaxed and away from it all.
Sit back, take a deep breath and relax. Feel the warmth of the wood burning stove, look up and let your eye be drawn up the roof poles, past the Moroccan lantern and through the large skylight where you will see the stars twinkling in the night sky………endless possibilities await on the holiday that lies ahead you.
Long Valley Yurts at Low Wray have three 16ft diameter Yurts located at the National Trust campsite at Low Wray right on the shores of Windermere, England’s largest lake.
What is a Yurt
A yurt, üi or kiz üi in Kazakh or ger in Mongolia as they are known are portable, felt covered wooden structures traditionally used by the Turkic and Mongolian nomads in the Steppes of Central Asia. It is a herders most important possession and upon marriage a family will build or buy the newlyweds their own Yurt.
We have three 16ft Yurts which sleep four/five people comfortably. There is a standard double bed and two single beds and an additional blow up mattress for a fifth person if required. We provide freshly laundered cotton sheets, pillow cases and duvets.
Unfortunately we do not accept dogs.

The Yurt sleeps four/five people, has a double bed and two single futons. An additional blow up mattress is available for a fifth person.
