Swirral Barn sits in an enviable position above Glenridding nr Ullswater, making it the perfect base for walks up and around Helvellyn be it by the difficult Striding Edge or the easier Swirral Edge. There is also a pub in Glenridding just 1 mile away if you don’t fancy making your own food.

The barn provides mattresses but the rest of your camping equipment is required. It is a great alternative to camping giving a roof over your head to keep you dry whatever the weather.  There are several barns across the Lake District opening up the possibility of more long distance walks without a tent!
