Bell tents are for people who want something different from their holiday. For families, friends, lovers of the outdoors, romantics, those in search of adventure and anyone who wants a little bit of luxury but still wants to feel close to nature.

Whoever you are the Bell Tent experience has something to offer you. One you will never forget.

What is a Bell Tent

A tried and tested 19th century design which has stood the test of time. Originally used by the military, the design is simple; natural poly-cotton canvas hangs down from a central pole and is held in place with guy ropes, creating a delightful old-fashioned shape. Strong enough to withstand all the Lake District can throw at it, they are fully waterproof and when the sun is shining you can roll up the sides enjoy the breeze and let the outside in.

Our Bell Tents

Our Bell Tents are 5m in diameter so they are big enough for five people to sleep in quite happily. The outside cover is made from a thick poly cotton canvas, which is light, and neutral in colour. Each of the Bell Tents has been raised off the ground to allow natural ventilation. With wooden floors and Moroccan rugs they hold in the warmth and provide all the comfort you need for the ideal holiday.

Some things you will find in our Bell Tents:

  • Raised wooden floors
  • Wood burning stove with hot plate for those additional cooking needs.
  • Comfortable futon style beds enough to sleep four people, consisting of four single mattresses which conveniently and easily turn into seating during the day. An additional mattress can be supplied for an additional person if required.
  • A fully equipped and functional kitchen including all the things you are likely to need for five people to cook and dine with.
  • Gas hobs and grill, no charge for gas.
  • Sides that roll up enabling you to let the beauty of the outside in.
  • Windows, allowing natural light and some fresh Lake District air in.
  • Solar powered fairly lights and lighting.
  • Bean bags

Each Bell Tent sleeps five people, it has four single futon style beds and additional mattress.

Unfortunately we do not accept dogs.

In addition our Bell Tents are furnished with a Moroccan feel, consisting of lanterns, rugs throws and furniture to make you feel completely relaxed and away from it all.
