There are hundreds of so-called tourist information websites out there offering list after list of campsite addresses but very few of them give you the information that you are really after. What are the sites really like, what is there to do in the area, what's the local pub like, how easy is it to get there, what's the walking like locally, will I need my car once I'm there...?

This guide is designed by campers for campers. With over 30 years experience of camping and camp sites all over the Lake District, we like to think we know a little about what people are looking for. We want this to be the really useful guide regardless of whether you are a serious outdoor enthusiast or a leisure camper who simply enjoys the please of being outdoors, camping in the Lake District.

Some of our sites also cater for touring caravans, camper vans and static holiday caravans too.
